Peachtree® by Sage 2007 New Features

Peachtree for 2007 has newly designed windows that make it easier to set up security for your company. It's quick and easy to assign user names and passwords to system users and then grant them access to all or selected areas of the Peachtree program. Embedded Help tells you more about each of the areas you can grant access to.

At-a-glance find, view, drill down, print, and e-mail information and records easier and quicker. Now you can view all key information on your records all at once with lists. You can sort and search on lists for both records, such as customers and vendors, as well as transactions.

There's an entirely new way to get around in Peachtree. Starting with 2007, Navigation Centers provide access to the various areas of the Peachtree program such as Customers & Sales, Vendors & Purchases, and Banking. They also display up-to-date information about those areas, including aged receivables, aged payables, account balances, and much more. A special Navigation Bar takes you to any of the Navigation Centers and provides shortcuts to Peachtree windows that you use most often in your business.

Now you can filter your standard and custom reports by custom fields, allowing you to run more meaningful reports categorized in ways more useful to you.

Starting with Peachtree 2007, individual windows such as maintenance and task windows are independent of the main Peachtree window. You can move them anywhere on the Peachtree desktop and minimize them to the Windows Status Bar, leaving the main Peachtree window clear.

Set up transactions once and do not worry about them, even those that may repeat after your open fiscal periods. Peachtree will remember these transactions automatically for you.

Now, you can filter this report by invoice status, based on whether or not invoices have discounts that are still available. Use the Filter screen to select the status you want, so you can more quickly locate the invoices/bills that you must pay soon to obtain the discount. New to Peachtree Pro Accounting, Peachtree Complete, Peachtree Premium Accounting, and Peachtree Quantum.

Starting with Peachtree 2007, you can now change the IDs of jobs, just as you can the IDs of customers, vendors, and employees. In Peachtree Complete and higher, this means you can change job phase and cost code IDs as well.

In Peachtree 2007, copying a Peachtree report to Excel now gives you more flexibility and features, including the ability to use freeze panes and automatic column filtering. In Peachtree Premium Accounting only, you'll also be able to choose whether the data will appear in Excel in raw data format or in Peachtree report format.

The Maintain Budgets window lets you build a forecast of dollar amounts for selected accounts for each fiscal period. You can build a budget using actual accounting data or using an existing budget. You can filter the accounts you budget for by account type (income statement accounts, expenses, etc.). In Peachtree Premium and higher, you can also filter by account segment. In Peachtree Complete and Peachtree Pro Accounting, you can filter by department mask.

You can copy your budgets to Excel, including formulas. You can view and compare four years of budget information. When you close the year in Peachtree, a new budget is automatically created from the existing budget.

New in Peachtree 2007, the Business Status Center is a special "dashboard" presentation that lets you see at a glance a variety of general business information, including account balances, revenue figures, receivables and payables data, action items, and company cash flow. It also includes a feature that lets you find, display, and/or print a Peachtree report.
