Peachtree® by Sage 2008 New Features - OTHER IMPROVEMENTS

Need to send the same invoice to multiple customers? Now you can bill multiple customers for the same product or service in one process.

How to:

1. On the Sales/Invoicing screen, create or select the invoice that you want to send to multiple customers.
   
2. Click Broadcast on the toolbar. The Select Customers for Broadcast Invoicing screen will appear.
   
3. Specify the customers you want to send the invoice to, then click OK.
   
4. The Create Broadcast Invoices screen will appear. Verify the customers you want to create the invoice for, then click Create.
   
5. The Invoices Created message will appear, and you can choose to view a summary report or print invoices.

If you manage inventory in your business, now you can set up Peachtree with different decimal setting requirements for units and for quantities. For either the unit or the quantity, you can select the number of decimal places up to 5 places.

How to:

1. To specify the decimal settings, go to Global Options. The Maintain Global Options dialog will appear.
2. On the Accounting tab, enter the number of decimal places for the quantity and/or the unit price.

Now you can attach files to Peachtree customer, vendor, employee, and inventory item records. For example, you can attach a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or other documentation to a customer record. You can also attach files to most transactions. Saving your associated files in one place can streamline your processes and help you stay organized.

All file formats are supported. For example, you can attach Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Word documents, photographs, scanned documents, and other types of files. You can also open or print the file directly from the Attachments dialog, as long as the associated application is installed on your computer.

How to:

1. From an applicable record or transaction screen (for example, Maintain Customers, Maintain Vendors, or Sales/Invoicing), click the Attachments button on the toolbar, or select Add Attachments from the File menu.
2. The Attachments dialog will appear, and you can add as many attachments as you need.

If you don't have a method for entering IDs for your customers, vendors, and other records, leave them blank and Peachtree will automatically fill them in for you based on the name or description you enter. IDs can be automatically generated for most records.

How to:

1. To turn on the auto-create IDs setting, go to Global Options. The Maintain Global Options dialog will appear.
2. On the General tab, select the Automatically create IDs on maintenance windows checkbox. Click OK.

Most of the maintenance screens (e.g., Maintain Customers/Prospects and Maintain Employees/Sales Reps) have been reorganized and given an updated look. The tabs are better organized to logically group your information. For example, on Maintain Vendors, a new Addresses tab has been added so you can easily view and add vendor addresses.

The menu options on maintenance screens are now more comprehensive.

Help has been added to key fields on many screens to provide assistance as you are entering data. When a field name has a blue dotted underline, this indicates that Help is available. To view the Help, move your cursor over the field name. The dotted underline and field name will turn to orange, and the assistance will appear right beneath your cursor.
