If you plan to have multiple users concurrently access the same company data, you should choose "Complete", "Premium" or "Quantum" version of Peachtree because they are "Multi-user" ready. If you have 3 to 5 users accessing Peachtree data concurrently over a network, the most cost effective option is Peachtree Premium or Peachtree Complete Accounting ( multi-user ) value pack. If you have more than 5 concurrent users, you should select Peachtree Quantum, which gives you the capacity of 10-40 concurrent user access.

"Multi-user Ready" means Peachtree has the capability of allowing multiple users to access the same company data concurrently. Only "Peachtree Quantum", "Premium" and "Complete" versions of Peachtree are "Multi-user Ready". Peachtree Accounting and First Accounting always work as stand-alone mode.

"Multi-user Version" and "Stand-alone Version" are the licensing of Peachtree. "Multi-user Version" allows you to install Peachtree on an unlimited number of computers within an intranet, although the maximum number of allowed concurrent named users is 5 for "Premium" and "Complete multi-user versions. Peachtree Quantum granted you a maximum of 10 concurrent named users' access license. "Stand-alone Version" allows you to install and run Peachtree on only one computer.

Peachtree Premium and Complete Multi-user Versions allow multiple named users to access the same company data at the same time. For example, when user A login as "sales" is entering a quotation for a customer, user B can login as "purchasing" to print a purchase order while your boss login his own named user account as "John" is printing a financial report. "Multi-user Ready - For 5 Named Users" means Peachtree allows you to share the same company data with not more than 5 concurrent named users logging in. No user will be able to open the same Peachtree company if this maximum is exceeded.

If you have more than 5 concurrent named users using Peachtree, you should consider Peachtree Quantum.

If you want to share your Peachtree company data to several users at the same time, you need a data server. A data server can be a normal Windows 2000, XP or Vista PC, which shares a data folder to other users. Or, it can be a dedicated file server like Windows 2003 Server for better stability and efficiency. In general, a Windows dedicated data server is recommended for sharing Peachtree data over your intranet.

We recommend VPN ( Virtual Private Network ) and Windows Terminal Service technology. VPN allows several branch offices to connect together to become one network through the Internet. With data encryption and other security measures, a secure data tunnel is created through which you can transfer data between your branches. Peachtree supports VPN access.

Peachtree Premium supports Terminal Service, which allows remote users to login a Peachtree data server without using much of the limited bandwidth. With this service, no software is installed in your computer, ePeachtree is web-based and all transactions are performed in Peachtree's servers in United States.
